Overview

FaceCheck.ID is a reverse face search service that finds publicly available images matching a probe photo. To remove your photos from FaceCheck search results, use their official Remove My Photos process — not a generic contact form.

FaceCheck’s current flow is different from many other engines: you search for yourself first, select the results to remove, then verify with a live selfie (usually automated) or an anonymized ID document (manual review).

Before you begin

  • Have a clear photo of yourself available so you can locate your face in FaceCheck’s search results.
  • Be prepared to identify the results showing your face that you want removed.
  • For the fastest verification, plan to complete FaceCheck’s selfie capture.
  • If you can’t use the selfie option, FaceCheck allows an anonymized ID document instead.
  • Remember that removal from FaceCheck does not delete the original images from the websites hosting them.

    Search for your face on FaceCheck.ID

    Start by performing a FaceCheck search using a clear photo of yourself. FaceCheck requires you to locate your face in its search results before selecting the images you want removed.

    Open Remove My Photos and select your images

    After finding your face in the results, open Remove My Photos from FaceCheck’s menu. Select the search results containing your photos that you want FaceCheck to remove.

    Verify the request with a selfie

    At the bottom of the removal page, start FaceCheck’s selfie capture. FaceCheck uses the selfie to confirm that you’re requesting removal of photos depicting you. FaceCheck says most selfie requests are approved automatically and the selected photos are removed immediately.

    Or use an anonymized ID (if you can’t complete the selfie)

    FaceCheck allows you to upload an anonymized ID document instead. This method requires manual review, and FaceCheck provides a tracking link so you can follow the request’s status.

    While review is pending, FaceCheck says the selected photos are immediately hidden from new searches. Manual verification typically takes 1–5 business days. After approval, FaceCheck says the selected photos and uploaded ID document are permanently deleted.

    Remember that the source images remain online

    Removing results from FaceCheck does not delete the original photos from the websites where they were published. If you want the original image removed from the internet, you’ll generally need to contact the website hosting it or use that site’s own removal process.

What happens next?

If approved

  • If you verify by selfie: FaceCheck says most selfie removal requests are approved automatically, with the selected photos deleted from its search system immediately.
  • If you verify using an anonymized ID: FaceCheck says the selected photos are immediately hidden so they won’t appear in new searches while the request is reviewed. Manual verification typically takes 1–5 business days. If approved, FaceCheck says the selected photos and uploaded ID document are permanently deleted.

  • Source websites still host the original images — FaceCheck removal only affects FaceCheck’s search index.
  • Removal exceptions: FaceCheck states that it reserves the right to deny removal in certain cases involving people convicted of specified serious violent or sexual offenses.
