Powerful technology. Built with principles.

How CatchAFace protects privacy, expects responsible use, and prevents misuse — while helping people stay informed.

Transparency

We explain how our technology works and what we search.

Privacy

Photos are encrypted, processed securely, and deleted after every search.

Human first

Every design decision starts with protecting people and their rights.

Responsible use

What CatchAFace can help you explore — and where the limits are

Context — not proof.

Review visually similar images already public online. Results add context — they don't prove identity, authenticity, intent, or personal safety.

What CatchAFace can help with

  • Understanding your public image footprintSee where visually similar images of you may appear online.
  • Reviewing possible photo reuseDiscover whether an image may have been reposted, copied, or used in another public context.
  • Adding context to online interactionsReview visually similar public images as one source of information before making your own judgment.
  • Protecting your own imagesLook for possible public appearances of photos you own or are authorized to search.
  • Researching public visual contentSupport responsible research, reporting, and public-interest review of publicly indexed images.
  • Finding alternate versions of an imageSurface related crops, older photos, different angles, or visually similar public appearances.

CatchAFace must not be used for

  • Harassment, intimidation, or bullying
  • Stalking or monitoring someone without permission
  • Building dossiers or tracking individuals
  • Employment or worker screening
  • Credit, lending, insurance, or financial decisions
  • Housing, tenant, buyer, or neighborhood decisions
  • Mass surveillance or bulk facial tracking
  • Discrimination or unlawful profiling
  • Any illegal, deceptive, or exploitative purpose

Permission first

Search with permission. Always.

Public isn't permission.

Search only images you own, are authorized to use, or have a legitimate lawful reason to review. Similarity means shared visual traits — not that two images show the same person.

You should search only

  • Your own photos
  • Photos you own or are authorized to use
  • Images submitted with the subject's permission
  • Public images reviewed for a legitimate, lawful, and responsible purpose
  • Images connected to protecting your own rights, work, or public presence

You should not search for

  • Curiosity, entertainment, or gossip
  • Images of others without permission or a legitimate lawful purpose
  • Secret monitoring or repeated tracking
  • Harassment, retaliation, intimidation, or humiliation
  • Decisions about employment, housing, credit, insurance, or eligibility
  • Any illegal, deceptive, discriminatory, or exploitative purpose

CatchAFace is a visual-search tool, not an identity-verification service, background check, or personal-safety assessment. Visual similarity is not identity. Results highlight images that appear visually similar. They do not confirm that two images depict the same person.
