How to Remove Your Photos from Yandex Images
Yandex Images doesn’t offer a universal face opt-out. Here’s how to remove an image at the source, report an outdated image result, or accelerate removal from a website you control.
Overview
Yandex Images is a general web image search engine, not a dedicated face-search database. It indexes publicly accessible images from websites across the internet and uses computer vision to find exact and visually similar images.
There is no universal “remove my face from Yandex” option. For most images, removal begins with the website hosting the original content. If an image has already been removed from its source but continues appearing in Yandex Images, Yandex provides an official process for reporting the outdated result.
Before you begin
- Open the Yandex Images result and identify the website hosting the original image.
- Save the source page URL and, when available, the direct image URL.
- Check whether the image is still available on the original website.
- If you control the source, remove or restrict the image there first.
- Remember that removing a result from Yandex does not necessarily delete the original image from the internet.

Yandex says that if you do not want your images on other websites, you should contact the owners of those resources and ask them to remove the image. Once the image disappears from the source website, it should stop being found by Yandex after a short time.
Step 1
Find the website hosting the image

Remove the image at the source
If you control the website or account, delete the image or change its visibility so it is no longer publicly accessible.

What to expect
- If the source image has been removed: Yandex says the image should eventually disappear from Yandex Images as its search index updates. If it continues appearing after removal from the source website, use Yandex’s official report form for outdated image results.
- If the original image is still online: removing an image from Yandex does not necessarily remove the original image from the internet. The most durable solution is to have the image deleted or restricted by the website hosting it.
Keep in mind
- Copies hosted on other websites are separate sources. Removing one source image does not automatically delete copies published elsewhere.
